A Southgate bar faces a fight for its future after a police issued a closure order earlier this month following a brawl.

The Maze Inn, in Chase Side, Southgate, was closed on February 11, 2014 following a fight in the early hours of Sunday, February 9.

According to police documents which have been made public, two men were assaulted in the club by six or seven men.

One man suffered a cut head and a swollen eye during the melee. Both men were taken to North Middlesex Hospital in Sterling Way, Edmonton.

An Enfield Borough Council licensing sub-committee will make a decision on Wednesday, February 19 about the future of the bar with a possibility remove the current premises supervisor, suspend or potentially even revoke the bar’s licence.

The bar is open from 9am to 12.30am on Sundays to Thursday and shuts at 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Personally, I cannot believe the council lets this business continue under the door supervision of a bunch of body building steroid abusers,
NOT ONE OF WHICH DISPLAYS A BADGE.
You may question my accusations if you wish,as long as you impose blood tests. These non SIA badge displaying guys have already started to assert there will in other bars etc, and are nothing but a problem for the future.
It seems Ironic the council has black clad henchmen out to enforce a dropped fag end law between 9 'A.M. & 5.30. P.M.,
but at 22.00 PM the Hi street money flow becomes the property of un badged or licensed steroid dealers. ( I dont have to prove this, just look)
I can only take it enfield licensing goes home at the week end, the time they might actually do their jobs? And what are the police up to?
