A Southgate bar faces a fight for its future after a police issued a closure order earlier this month following a brawl.

The Maze Inn, in Chase Side, Southgate, was closed on February 11, 2014 following a fight in the early hours of Sunday, February 9.

According to police documents which have been made public, two men were assaulted in the club by six or seven men.

One man suffered a cut head and a swollen eye during the melee. Both men were taken to North Middlesex Hospital in Sterling Way, Edmonton.

An Enfield Borough Council licensing sub-committee will make a decision on Wednesday, February 19 about the future of the bar with a possibility remove the current premises supervisor, suspend or potentially even revoke the bar’s licence.

The bar is open from 9am to 12.30am on Sundays to Thursday and shuts at 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
