A food store is encouraging people to donate to a foodbank which has been a lifeline for more than 2,000 residents in crisis in the borough.

Budgens, in Stoneleigh Broadway, now has a bin in-store for people to drop off their donations for the Epsom and Ewell Foodbank.

The foodbank provides a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to local people and has fed 2,600 people since it started in October 2012.

The foodbank is particularly in need of:

  • Instant custard
  • Instant mash
  • Shower gel for females
  • UHT milk and fruit juice
  • Tinned puddings, meat and vegetables
  • Shampoo and deodorants
  • Washing powder and washing up liquid
  • Sugar
  • Biscuits and chocolates
