Community groups and school pupils will ‘go bananas’ to mark fair trading and a special meeting.

People are invited to Harrow Borough Council’s event, which will celebrate Harrow Central Mosque becoming the first mosque to achieve Fair Trade status.

The summit’s theme will focus on making the banana trade fair, and people who attend will learn about how the Fair Trade campaign can be promoted in the borough.

Councillor Nana Asante, chairman of the Harrow Fairtrade Steering Group, said: “This is an opportunity for everyone to see how well we are doing and commit to doing their little bit to make Harrow a Fairtrade borough.

“Fairtrade is about trade justice and being part of creating a fairer world.”

The event will be held at the Harrow Civic Centre, in Station Road will host the event which is on Tuesday 18 February between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
