Chef whites are at the ready and kitchens are being prepared for a special dining event at Sunrise of Weybridge.
Members of the community are invited to enjoy a home cooked meal cooked by Sunrise between March 10 and 16 and pick up a series of recipe cards to recreate the meals at home.
Diners will also have the chance to meet the Sunrise chef and hear some of the trade secrets.
William Burke, director of community relations at Sunrise of Weybridge, said: “It will be a great chance to educate people about the need for a nutritious diet as you grow older.
“This is a long way from the traditional image of food in the care sector, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Sunrise of Weybridge to sample the delicious home-cooked food on offer.”
Sunrise has also launched a national cooking competition, challenging people to cook a favourite dish their mother or father used to make.
To enter, participants should email a photo of their home cooked dish, the recipe, the name of the meal and their name to competition@sunriseseniorliving.com.
