HILLINGDON'S young female cricketers have made it through to next month’s London Youth Games Indoor Cricket final at Lord's.
The team, featuring competitors in Year 8 or younger, won their qualifying round on Sunday at Harrow Leisure Centre.
They are now hoping to continue their winning streak at next month’s final, having already beaten Bexley, Lambeth and Kingston.
Team manager Gordon Summerfield said: “A medal at Lord's would be nice, but all I’m looking for is an improvement in their own performance, as well as the team performance.”
The team have three more training sessions before the big game on Sunday, March 2.
The London Youth Games, sponsored by Balfour Beatty, is Europe’s largest annual youth sports event and is open to Londoners aged 7-18 across all boroughs.
