A meeting in support of the Tube strike will be held in Walthamstow tonight.
Waltham Forest Trades Council will host the event as Tube workers across London are scheduled to walk out at 9pm tonight in the second of two 48-hour strikes.
Unions say plans to modernise the network, which also include the loss of 950 jobs, could affect staff and passenger safety - a claim dismissed by London Underground.
Speakers include Manuel Cortes, general secretary of the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association, and Glenroy Watson of the Rail, Maritime and Transport workers union.
Union and London Underground bosses are meeting today to attempt to resolve the issue.
The meeting is being held at The Quaker House in Jewel Road, Walthamstow, at 7pm.
