A MAN was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a six-vehicle crash on the A2 on Sunday evening.
A woman was cut-free from her car by firefighters after the pile-up at on the London-bound carriageway close to Pepperhill junction.
It is not clear how serious here injuries were.
South East Coast Ambulance Service and three fire engines rushed to the scene and three people reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Twitter user George Watkins tweeted "massive pileup on London bound A2 at Pepperhill. More emergency vehicles than I can count".
A Kent police spokesman said: "A 45-year-old man from Essex was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and assault and remains in custody."
The road was closed at 6.18pm and reopened at 8.20pm.
