Families battled it out at a leisure centre yesterday in a bid to boost their fitness and win a trip to Disneyland.
Teams from across the borough took part in the Big Family Challenge at Harrow Leisure Centre, in Christchurch Avenue throughout the day.
They had to take on three main challenges of running, cycling and rowing at set distances designed to test families’ co-ordination, agility and stamina.
Lemuel Fontenelle, senior fitness at the centre’s gym, said: “The family challenge aims to show families that doing sports and activities together is a great way to stay healthy.
“There is growing problem in this country with obesity and events like this are a good way to get young people into good fitness habits when they are young so they will continue with them into the future.”
Also during the day there were a number of free dance classes, swimming and sport taster sessions for people to enjoy.
The scores will go against other families who took part at Everyone Active leisure centres across London and the team with the best score will win a trip to Disneyland Paris.
