UPDATE: Southeastern train delays through London Bridge till 8pm

COMMUTERS across the News Shopper patch have been hit by travel chaos today - with disruption on Southeastern services through London Bridge set to continue until 8pm.

In proof that south east London doesn't need striking tube workers to make travelling a nightmare, Southeastern are warning of 20 minute delays on their services through London Bridge until around 8pm.

Today, there has been disruption on Southeastern trains between London Bridge and Orpington.

There were also delays between London Bridge and Sidcup due to a signalling problem between New Cross and Hither Green.

Services through Hither Green were being delayed by up to 45 minutes.

News Shopper reporter Mark Chandler, caught up in the travel chaos, tweeted: "Every train service at Lewisham either delayed or vanishes from departure screen. Signal problems between New X and Hither Grn. Avoid."

Apparently the DLR, And Overground Line seem to be running a normal service as they're unaffected by the strike.

The Northern Line seems to be okay at present although that could change.

WHEN I TRAVELLED IN AT 8.30AM, THERE WAS NO PROBLEM UNTIL TRAIN NEARED LONDON BRIDGE. THEN TOOK 20 MINS TO GET INTO
STATION AND ON TO CANNON STREET.
NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT THE LAME EXCUSE GIVEN AT CANNON
STREET BORE NO RELATION TO THE TRUTH - INCOMPETENCE

Nice time Mark Chandler - you got a cause to create some news- at least different from others who are just capturing gales and storms. (Editor, Techvedic)

Once again, South Eastern Trains get off lightly (or should that be Network Rail's rotting infrastructure?) under the guise of 'Tube Strike'. At least you mentioned the mid-morning melt down - more than The BBC website or the Evening Standard did.
