THE second round of Ealing’s Pop Up Shop is scheduled to take place from next Monday (February 10).

The project is part of a borough-led programme to regenerate Ealing’s high streets.

Juice Cube is first in this next round, taking over the premises at 99 Broadway in Ealing.

Founder and owner Anuj Dhanak said: “By having the opportunity to sell our products to the consumers of Ealing, it allows us to bring the community together. "

From February 10-22, the social enterprise will serve fresh fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies.

Following Juice Cube, Ealing Fairtrade Group will occupy the shop from February 24.

Co-ordinator Jackie Whitaker said: “Our aim is to maintain Ealing's status as a Fairtrade Borough and increase the sale and consumption of Fairtrade and fairly-traded products in the borough.”

During the first week of Fairtrade Fornight, a variety of Fairtrade businesses will be offering handicrafts, clothes, accessories, jewellery and gifts.

Next in line, Tea Darling, will transform the shop into a vintage tea room from March 3-15.

Alongside tea and cake, customers will be able to buy handmade cushions, throws, crochet items, candles and baby clothes from Chara Creative.

From March 17-29, Smashing Glass will sell hand-made glass products, including lanterns, artwork and gifts.

Smashing Glass is a business run by young Ealing people with learning difficulties from Northolt’s Belvue High School.

Art designer and illustrator David Emmanuel Noel created and sold his artwork at the shop for part of January.

He said: “Ealing Council and it's Pop Up Partners are right to provide small local businesses with an opportunity to trade while encouraging local residents to find unique gifts, products and services.

“It can be the catalyst for turning the area into an attractive and alternative retail destination as well as a culturally diverse social hub.”

The programme is funded by the government’s High Street Innovation Fund and Riot Recovery Fund.

Opened by Ealing Council, the shop at 99 Broadway W13 9BP will be open from 10am-6pm, Monday to Saturday.
