Whitton woman sentenced for string of offensive emails
A woman from Whitton has been handed a restraining order and made to pay more than £300 after sending a string of distressing emails.
Shamila Ahmed, 25, of Derwent Road, pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 31.
Her restraining order runs until further notice, preventing her from contacting the male complainant directly or indirectly.
Ahmed admitted sending 17 emails between September 8 and October 11 last year, causing harassment, alarm and distress.
The total fine amounted to £305, including a £200 fine, £85 costs to Crown Prosecution Service and a £20 victim surcharge.
