Older and vulnerable people in need of help with their finances will get more assistance after Age UK Richmond secured a £5,000 grant.
The cash from the Santander Foundation’s community plus initiative will help fund the Money Matters project, run by Age UK Richmond.
Money Matters provides short term help with financial issues for older people who are housebound or vulnerable including helping set up bank accounts and direct debits and assisting with financial changes associated with being widowed or a partner going into a care home.
Sandra Morrison chief officer at Age UK Richmond said: “We are delighted Santander is helping to support our much in demand Money Matters project.
“This funding will help us to recruit and train new volunteers, enabling us to reach even more vulnerable people in the borough.”
