A revamped pub where music legends Humphrey Lytletton and Mick Jagger have performed has been awarded top marks by a restaurant association.

The Bull’s Head in Lonsdale Road was at the centre of controversy last year after pub group Geronimo Inns spent £1m relocating the iconic jazz room to the back and making room for diners.

The move seems to have paid off after the pub was awarded the highest rating of three stars by the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

Ed Turner, managing director of Geronimo Inns, said: “We are really very proud of the three star rating - this sums up Geronimo’s passion for life perfectly.

“The whole team has been working on our sustainability for a number of years, and it is wonderful to see their hard work pay off.”
