A sleep-deprived couple are rejoicing after an electrical generator which has kept them awake for a week was finally removed this morning.
Brian and Amena Warner, of High Beeches, Banstead, said the generator was placed outside their house last Friday evening, four hours after a power cut left the street without electricity.
Mr Warner, who is self-employed, and his wife, a nurse at Epsom and St Helier hospital trust, said the noise from the generator was causing havoc with their sleep patterns.
He said: "We’ve just not been able to get any sleep, but thankfully the electricity has been resolved now."
With the electricity fault rectified yesterday, the generator was removed this morning.
