A bank has donated £5,000 to help fund a new games room for children suffering from cancer.
Charity In Ricky We Trust received the cash boost from the Santander Foundation and will use it to create a new games room called ‘the hub’ at the Royal Marsden cancer hospital in Sutton.
The room will make time spent in hospital easier for both the children and their families.
Vikram Deb, trustee and founder of In Ricky We Trust, said: “We are delighted that the Santander Foundation has chosen to help this very young charity and the grant will make a real difference to youngsters suffering from cancer.”
In Ricky We Trust was created in memory of Ricky Deb, a 21-year-old boy who was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive childhood cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour in 2011 and died in November 2012.
The charity aims to raise awareness of rare cancers in young people.
