A new learning centre was unveiled for the mayor of Elmbridge’s chosen charity.

Councillor Mike Bennison, mayor of Elmbridge, cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the centre at Riding for the Disabled Leatherhead and Horsley and Bookham groups on Friday, January 24.

The centre, which will provide resources and a warm area for children to wait for their riding session, was made possible by the Berkeley Foundation and Milner’s Carpets.

Coun Bennison said: “It was a wonderful occasion. I am so pleased that we have been able to provide this new facility during my mayoral year and I would like to thank the Berkeley Foundation for their fantastic support and Milner’s Carpets for their contribution.

“This will offer a huge benefit to all the young people who take part in the riding as they will no longer have to wait in the cold for their sessions. I am very proud to be involved with the RDA.”
