Reigate Society to host talk on the history of the National Trust

Roger Smith, a founder of the Mid Kent Centre, a local National Trust supporters group, will talk on the history of the National Trust at the next meeting of the Reigate Society, the civic society for Reigate, Redhill and Merstham, in the Tanners and Woolsack Rooms at the Harlequin Theatre, Warwick Quadrant, Redhill, on Thursday, February 27, at 8.15pm.

Mr Smith, who has volunteered with the National Trust for some 35 years and has acted as the Mid Kent Centre's secretary and then chairman, will talk on the development of the National Trust from its foundation in the late 19th century to the present.

He will also include some of the latest news, where possible, about local National Trust properties.
