KENT’S finest chefs are coming together for the first time next month to cook up a philanthropic feast.

Hopefully there won’t be any problems with egos on Monday March 17, as the county’s five Michelin-starred foodies create a seven-course dinner at Chapter One in Locksbottom.

The celebrated restaurant’s chef patron, Andy McLeish, is to be joined by The Sportsman’s Stephen Harris, Graham Garrett from The West House, Thackeray’s Daniel Hatton and Tim Johnson, of Apicius.

The event's in aid of the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, which was set up after a past member of Mr McLeish’s kitchen brigade, Daniel Nicholls, saw his life change forever following a freak holiday accident.

Mr McLeish said it would be a special occasion and added: "It’s a big deal for me to be working in the same kitchen with such talented chefs. We know each other well and eat in each other’s restaurants.

"We’re all proud to have restaurants in a county that has an abundance of quality produce and this event will showcase that."

He also said the charity is "very close to my heart," noting his personal connectiong with the organisation.

"I’m happy we’ve all come together to raise money for such a worthy cause," he added.

After champagne and canapés each chef will cook a signature dish in a celebration of Kentish fair. The evening will begin at 6.30pm and will feature locally-sourced indulgences such as wild rabbit, seabass, and venison - as well as matching wine.

Tickets are priced at £120. If you would like to attend email Cheryl Almond on cheryl@chaptersrestaurants.com or call 01689 854 848.
