The judge in the trial of a politician accused to attempting to pervert the course of justice has told the jury he will accept a majority verdict.

Judge Fraser Morrison made the announcement to jurors in Councillor Nilgun Canver’s trial at Wood Green Crown Court after more than five hours of deliberations.

In an attempt to break the deadlock in the trial, Judge Morrison told jurors he would accept a 10: 2 majority decision.
