Events planned across Bromley to commemorate centenary of World War One: Volunteers required
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to support a programme of events across Bromley borough commemorating the centenary of World War One.
The events planned will take place throughout 2014, 2015 and 2016 and will include touring exhibitions, a heritage day at Bromley Museum, free talks and family history sessions and the unveiling of interpretation panels at key sites.
A volunteer information day is being held on Saturday (January 25) from 10am to 12 noon in the Large Hall, Bromley Central Library, to outline project and volunteering opportunities available.
Volunteer roles include historical research assistants, website editors and content creators, photographers, event planners and more.
Simon McKeon, Local Studies and Archives Manager at Bromley Central Library, said: "We are keen to acknowledge Bromley's contribution to the First World War effort, recognising the care provided to wartime casualties with more than 50 hospitals across the borough.
"We are looking for volunteers across a wide range of roles so why not come along to our information day or get in touch with us directly for more information."
