Police are appealing for witnesses after a car collided with two pedestrians on the weekend leaving one fighting for his life.

The collision happened at 12.40am on Sunday (January 18) in East Hill close to the junction with Alma Road, Wandsworth.

Police were called to the scene and the London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance attended.

A man and a woman - both in their 40s - were taken to a south London hospital but the man remains in a critical but stable condition.

The 53-year-old female driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

She was taken to a south London police station and later bailed pending further enquiries.
