A former Enfield Mayor has been voted Nigerian woman of the year for 2013.
Councillor Kate Anolue received nearly half of the votes in a poll launched on social website Nigerian Watch UK.
Nearly 5,000 votes were cast with Ms Anolue polling 2,338, while her closest competitor, former Waltham Forest mayor Anna Mbachu gained 2,044 votes.
Ms Anolue said: "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Nigerian Watch for considering me worthy of nomination. I would then like to say a big thank you to all those who voted for me, as getting together in this manner can only be a good thing for Nigeria as we seek to take the country forward."
