A group of estate agents took time away from their desks to volunteer at a Jewish day centre for people with dementia.

The team from Moreland in Golders Green visited Jewish Care’s Sam Beckman Day Centre in Babington Road, Hendon, as part of the charity’s Employee Volunteer programme.

Jewish Care started the scheme in 2011 to encourage groups of colleagues to lend a helping hand at one of their centres.

As part of their volunteering programme Edward Gilbert, managing director of Moreland, and his team played table football on a table that they donated to the Sam Beckman centre.

Gillian Gold, from Jewish Care’s volunteer department, said: “We were delighted to have Moreland, a local business, take time out of their busy week to spend the day with us.

“We have numerous projects in the local area and would love to encourage other companies to come and talk to us about employee volunteering, staff mentoring, supporting social enterprise at Jewish Care or getting involved in our fundraising activities.”
