A new look Post Office has opened in Edmonton.

The revamped independent post office in Victoria Road in Edmonton was opened on Friday, January 17.

It has extended opening hours from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday as well as paying car tax.

Post Office owner Satchithanandeswar Yasaskaran said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to modernise the branch and I am very pleased to be officially launching it today for the community. Everyone loves the new look. The changes make the office more spacious, airy and much brighter. This is the first sub post office in the area to be modernised,

“Customers who work during the week really appreciate that they can visit this Post Office on a Saturday afternoon. The added Car Tax renewal service is also popular as people can quickly pop to this branch instead of going into town.”

Simon Burman, Post Office senior stakeholder manager, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Edmonton and I am confident this new modern post office will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

It was opened by Edmonton MP Andy Love who said: “was pleased to hear that Victoria Road post office was going to be modernised and it’s great that I can be here today to formally open the new-look branch and congratulate Mr Yasaskaran on his hard work.
