Nurses who fancy a change of career are invited to find out more about working in palliative care at Princess Alice Hospice.

The Esher hospice holds three nursing recruitment open days later this month to give those already qualified the chance to find out more about providing end of life care.

Staff nurse Rosalyn Claydon joined the team four years ago, after a 20-year career break, and has never looked back.

She said: “I applied to work at Princess Alice Hospice to try to get back to the kind of work I felt so passionately about and I am still here four years later.

“For me being at Princess Alice Hospice is all about being able to say ‘yes’. Yes your family and friends can visit whenever you would like them to day or night, yes these doors will open wide enough to get your bed through so you can go outside.

“Yes of course the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren can come in; yes of course the dog, cat and rabbit are welcome to visit.”

The open days take place at Princess Alice Hospice, West End Lane, Esher on Tuesday, January 28, from 5pm to 8pm, Thursday, January 30, from 2pm to 5pm and Saturday, February 1, from 10am to 3pm.
