After the success of the shuttle scheme that carried shoppers up and down the High Street for free, people are being asked if they would like to see it continue.

Successful Sutton introduced a shuttle service to carry shoppers from one end of the High Street to the other in the run up to Christmas. The scheme started on an initial trial run and is due to end soon.

But Ross Feeney, chief executive of Successful Sutton, wants people to let him know if they would like to see the scheme continue.

He said: "We have been asked by a lot of shoppers if we can extend the service indefinitely.

"I would like to ask Sutton Guardian readers for their feedback and ask whether they think we should keep the buggies running?"

Two buggies run at varying times according to demand. They have several stops on the High Street and are aimed at helping anyone who has difficulty with the slope.

Mr Feeney said the scheme would need sponsorship if it is to continue and would be keen to hear from anyone who would like to sponsor it.

To tell Mr Feeney what you think, or to volunteer to sponsor the scheme, email ross.feeney@successfulsutton.co.uk or call 020 3282 7198.
