Members of an orchard in Pinnerare preparing to perform an ancient tradition by blessing apple trees in the hope it will ensure a good harvest in the coming year.
Diamond Community Orchard in Hatch End Playing Field in Uxbridge Road are encouraging people to get involved in the tradition, known as wassailing, which will take place on Friday January 17 between 4pm and 6pm.
Participants will also get the chance to taste some of the local produce after the event when there will be an array of mulled apple juice and cider on offer.
The orchard was funded by a Capital Growth grant and was planted in spring 2012.
