TODAY we’re asking whether you like to eat the end slices off a loaf of bread, and what name you know them as.

Some people turn their nose up at these troublesome extra-crusty slices and will bin them rather than using them for toast or sandwiches.

Other people will swear the ends are the best bits of a loaf.

What’s your preference – eat the end slices or not?

Also, what do you call these end slices? I grew up calling them the ‘crusts’ but have also seen them referred to as ‘heels’ or ‘noses’ among other things.

And when you’re having your toast in the morning or sarnies at lunchtime do you eat the crust around the edge or cut these bits off? Were you brought up on crusts being “good for you” or “making your hair go curly”?
