Fifteen households in High Barnet still have a black and white television licence - almost 50 years after the first colour transmissions.

TV Licensing revealed the number of viewers clinging to the past among its latest figures, which show fewer than 12,000 black and white television sets are in use across the UK, with just 2,300 in London.

In Enfield town centre, 37 homes are still registered as having non-colour televisions, with 29 in Harrow and eight in Borehamwood.
