A man who used to live in Richmond is trying to track down his father’s lost war medals.

Peter Wilson, now living in Swindon, wants to know if anybody has any information on the four medals won by George Field Wilson, formerly of Princes Road.

They include a 1939-45 star, a defence medal, war medal and Italy star won in the Second World War.

Mr Wilson was born in 1910 and died in 1998, and was survived by wife Alice for seven months.

After the war he worked as a removals man at Ham Bros of Richmond before working as a caretaker at Princes Road School.

His son, Peter Wilson, said: “I am trying to fill in the gaps in my family history. I remember seeing his medals back in the 60s along with a box of photographs.

“They are not with anything mum left, so I am wondering if he lent them to someone for a project or something.”

If anyone has any information of the four medals, please contact Mr Wilson on 01793 641022 or peterwilson2012@btinternet.com.
