The Royal Marines Association’s (RMA) Hanworth branch holds a charity collection at the Quins vs Clermont Auvergne match on Saturday.

Money raised will go to the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, which supports injured Royal Marines and their families.

The branch has collected more than £15,000 at the Twickenham Stoop in the past three seasons.

Mark Richards, RMA Hanworth chairman and Falklands veteran, said: “The crowd at the games have been magnificent in showing their support for our troops. The total of over £15,000 surpassed our expectations.

“We are very grateful to Quins for allowing us to make another collection"”

The branch will be raising money for Royal Marines charities throughout the year, with more collections planned for Brentford FC, at Sainsbury’s St Clares, Tesco Osterley and Tesco Sunbury.

It hopes to increase its membership to boost its fundraising ability and urges Royal Marines interested in helping out to contact branch secretary Brian Briers on 020 7560 2804.
