A Weybridge gym kicked off the new year by raising funds for disabled young adults through its annual dodgeball tournament.

Locker 27, in Hamm Moor Lane, held the event in aid of the Clubhouse Project, a day service facility for young adults with severe learning disabilities.

The day began with a tournament for under 16s, which saw three teams from the gym’s academy go head to head. Team The Only Way is Tunbridge beat team #Yolo in the final to take the crown.

Eight teams in fancy dress competed in the adult tournament, including one from the Dodgeball Premier League. Team Wrong Direction, made up of made up of past and current Surrey County Cricket professionals, were victorious in the final against the Dodgefathers.

Matt Church, director of Locker 27, who organised the tournament, said: “Being able to put this event on and donate proceeds from it to aid the Clubhouse Project means a lot to myself and the charity.

“We definitely look forward to seeing what ideas we can come up with next to help their cause.”
