Downside village could become the next conservation area in the borough.

A consultation was launched on Monday, January 6, with residents invited to give their views on the character appraisal and management plan for the greenbelt area.

The appraisal describes the area, its development and buildings of importance and identifies particular areas of character, while the development plan explains how the site would be managed and reviewed.

The plans will be displayed in the foyer of the Civic Centre, Esher, from January 6 to 17 and a one day exhibition will take place at the Chapel of St Michael and All Angels, Downside Common Road, Downside on Thursday, January 23, from 2.30pm to 7pm.

Public consultation on the plans runs from Monday, January 6, to Friday, February 14, with the documents available online.
