People are being called to donate their unwanted glasses for a church charity collection.

Stanmore Funeral Service, in Honeypot Lane, has teamed up with Bethany Church, in Woodgrange Avenue, Kenton to collect glasses.

The unwanted eyewear will be repaired by the church and go to elderly people in developing countries around the world who are unable to afford glasses.

Other branches of the church group in Southall have been collecting specs for the last month and thousands of pairs have been donated and are ready to be reused.

Those interested in taking part can donate by calling Karen Cox on 0208 951 1463.
