A new walkway named after a late Thames Ditton resident has been unveiled in the village.

Pip’s Path, which bridges the gap between the Ashley Road car park and the High Street, was created as part of an ongoing regeneration campaign to “keep the heart in Thames Ditton high street”.

The path is named after the late Pip Huxster, who worked in the High Street, and the campaign for the new walkway was led by Bob Huxster, Pip’s former husband.

Pip’s Path is the final stage in the redevelopment of Hawkes Yard during which, a strip of land was set aside and a group got together to provide the finance to buy it for the community.

The path, which can be accessed from the High Street next to Simply Fresh, is owned by the Thames Ditton Foundation, a charity set up to maintain, improve and provide public amenities and facilities for the benefit of Thames Ditton and surrounding areas.
