A local radio station listened will be going for gold at the national radio awards.

Radio Wey was shortlisted in five categories, including best specialist music programme and best speech package.

Presenters Gail Hutson and Andy Brown were also both nominated for female presenter of the year and male presenter of the year respectively.

Andy Brown, chairman of Radio Wey, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted again this year for these awards. After last year’s triumph of two golds and one silver, we are hoping to have similar success at this year’s awards.

“I am also pleased to be personally shortlisted for a second year in the male presenter of the year category after winning gold last year.”

The radio station, which broadcasts at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals as well as online, will find out if they are successful at the end of March.
