A new programme of short healthy walks has been set up to help more people get out and enjoy the beauty of Elmbridge.

Every Friday at 10.30am, a short 10-minute flat walk will take place from Hurst Meadows car park and every Monday from January 13, a 15-minute flat walk will start at Xcel Leisure Centre, Walton, at 11.30am.

For those who can manage a slightly longer walk, why not join in with the 30-minute flat route from Weybridge centre for the community on Wednesday, January 8 at 10.30am.

Another stroll of a similar pace and length will also take place around Riverside Walk on Wednesday, January 22. Participants should been on the far side of the Waitrose car park, Hersham at 10.30am.

Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: “I am so excited about the new short walks that Elmbridge healthy walks scheme are offering.

“This is a great way for everyone to get back in the habit of walking again and will encourage them to put their best foot forward towards a healthier lifestyle in a relaxed environment.”
