A shopper won £1,000 in vouchers in a contest backed by the Sutton Guardian.

Successful Sutton, a project to boost business in Sutton town centre, ran the Enjoy Christmas prize draw to give one lucky shopper the chance to really enjoy the town's January sales.

Almost 4,000 people from all over Sutton entered but it was Roxanne Denyer from Wallington who scooped the top prize when the draw was made by Successful Sutton marketing manager Teresa Whitfield in the town centre on December 20.

Ms Denyer said: "I still cannot believe I won! I am truly shocked and unbelievably grateful. I have a 2 year old daughter who is now going to have an even better Christmas.

"I always shop in Sutton High Street as it has everything I need."

An excellent top cop who led from the front in Sutton High Street saving us from the London wide riots a year or two back. A happy new year to you, sir.
