AN attempted burglary took place at Cash Converters in Gravesend last night.

Staff arrived at the New Road shop to a scene of broken glass and smashed windows.

The culprits did not manage to enter the shop because the shop has been fitted out with extra security shutters on the inside and all stock is taken out of the windows each night.

It is the third attempted robbery on the shop in three years.

Shop manager Mark Strelley said: "We are putting up CCTV because we want to know who is doing this.

"It has cost us £2000 so far in terms of having to keep buying new windows each time someone wants to come and have a go.

"We know it happened between 4am and 8.30am. When I saw the glass everywhere it didn't surprise me to be honest because it has happened twice before."
