A councillor is calling for urgent action to review the safety of Ewell Road in Cheam.
Cheam councillor Mary Burstow wants Transport for London and the Metropolitan Police to review the road following two collisions, in the same place, during the last four months.
At the end of August a car lost control and crashed into the Farmer Memorial.
In the evening on December 20 a car hit a tree near the Farmer Memorial.
Coun Burstow said: "Both accidents happened in the dark, in wet road conditions.
"Fortunately nobody has been injured but there could so easily have been a pedestrian walking along the pavement when the second accident occurred. I would like to know what can be done, to make this bend safer."
