A man was handed a prison sentence of 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, after embarking on a spate of thefts from cars across Richmond.

Tomash Zulava, 29, who lives in London Road, Hounslow, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on December 23, pleading guilty to all five charges, including one attempted theft.

Among the items taken from vehicles were money, a TomTom sat-nav, a mobile phone, two pairs of designer sunglasses and a pair of black Timbaland boots.

The crimes took place between September and November 2013 and Zulava has been in police custody since December 9.

As a result of remaining in custody for such a period, Zulava was not required to pay any additional costs or fines.
