Unwanted Christmas gifts and items fresh from a new year clear out are being sought by Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.

The hospices are seeking donations to help replenish their 17 charity stores across Surrey rather than seeing items go to waste or gather dust.

David Jenkins, retail director at Woking and Sam Beare Hospices, said: “Unwanted presents make a huge difference to us this time of year, and helps us raise those all-important funds for the hospices.

“We all want to have a fresh and positive start to the new year, and what better way than having a bit of a clear out, and doing your bit for charity at the same time.”

New and good quality used items can be donated to one of the charity’s retail shops or directly to the hospices warehouse on the Lansbury Estate, Knaphill.

Taxpayers can also sign up to gift aid when they drop off their items, which will let the hospices reclaim 25p per pound for every item sold.
