A chocoholic was handed an eight-week prison sentence after stealing 30 boxes of Ferrero Rocher chocolates from Poundland, Twickenham.

Robert Peffers, of Union Lane, Isleworth, stole £30 of the spherical chocolate treat from the King Street store on September 30.

The 55-year-old was sentenced to four weeks in prison at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on December 27, after pleading guilty.

Peffers committed the offence while on a community and suspended sentence orders which, given a lengthy history of repeat offences, doubled his sentence to eight weeks.
