A white Christmas is what many people dream of, with hopes of time of the slopes and a Christmas dinner in front of a cosy fire.

The snow might not have fallen, but those who are interested in skiing are in for a treat.

Rollerskiing, country skiing without the snow, will be in 0the borough so adventures will not have to travel to snowy resorts to achieve their wish.

Using wheeled skis, skiing boots and poles, rollerskiing is suitable for all levels and abilities, whether you are looking for a sport to relax or want to be a bit more competitive.

Anyone aged 11 to 24-years-old can enjoy a new six-week course which runs at Brooklands Community Park, Weybridge, from Monday, January 13.

Adult beginners are also welcome to join in the fun with professional coaches.

Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: “Rollerskiing seems to be a great and exciting way to keep fit for everyone. Brooklands Community Park is the ideal location to practise safely on a flat and even surface. Why not come along and have a go. It might save you a trip to the mountains and might prove to be equally enjoyable.”
