Hampton Court Palace’s choristers will spend more than 40 hours rehearsing and singing at more than 10 seasonal services and events.

The Chapel Royal Choristers are more than halfway through their busiest month of the year.

The group has sung at St James’s Church in Hampton Hill to mark the 150th anniversary of the church and at the 2013 Gala Christmas Community Concert on behalf of the Greenwood Centre.

Hampton and Hampton Hill Voluntary Care, based at the Greenwood Centre, is a community support group that helps vulnerable people who may suffer from social isolation.

Michele Price, manager of the Choral Foundation, said: “We are pleased to support such a worthy local cause and be part of the historic celebrations at St James’s Hampton Hill.

“This will be the third charity performance that the boys have done this year, helping to raise over £150,000 thus far for charitable causes.”

The choristers were invited to take part in the ITV “Text Santa” charity campaign that was be broadcast on Friday, December 20, with all funds going to charities including Barnardo’s and Age UK.

Over the Christmas period, the choristers will sing at the Chapel Royal Hampton Court Palace on Sundays and will take a well -deserved break until January 12.
