Mind charity shop in Enfield appeals for donations of unwanted Christmas presents
A charity shop in Enfield wants people to donate their unwanted Christmas presents to help meet increased demand for shop sales.
Mental health charity Mind's shop in Windmill Hill has seen festive shoppers flock to the store as they search for presents.
But with 95 per cent of products donated locally, manager Melanie Barker is now appealing for new donations to help keep the shelves stocked into the new year.
She said: “This year, many people are feeling the pinch and charity shops are proving to be a great option for those on a budget. However, due to a dearth in donations, Mind cannot meet the additional demand.
“The Mind shop in Enfield is, therefore, asking people to look carefully at last year’s gifts, that they no longer need and donate them to make someone’s Christmas wishes come true. Anything you can spare would be welcome.
“All your donations to our shops go to a worthwhile cause. It is thanks to your support that we are able to raise funds for the charity’s vital work in ensuring no one has to face a mental health problem alone.”
