Coulsdon Sixth Form College has undergone a "remarkable" transformation since its federation with Reigate College, Ofsted inspectors have said.
Inspectors visited the sixth form in Placehouse Lane on November 26 and 27, and praised "highly effective measures" at the school that they said ensured excellent teaching.
The "exemplary" behaviour of students and the "assiduous monitoring" of students progress were also noted in the report, which stated: "current indicators are that students' results are likely to improve significantly this year."
It has been nine months since Executive Principal Steve Oxlade and his team took control of the sixth form college after a series of damning Ofsted reports.
Mr Oxlade, who is also principal of Reigate College said: "I’m extremely pleased that the dedication of our staff has been recognised and the students who attend our College are praised for their hard work and commitment.
"Now we move forward again to the next level with our ultimate goal to be the best College in the UK – nothing less is good enough."
