Three charities have been given a festive boost with a donation from a building society.
The Harrow branch of Chelsea Building Society has split a donation of £1,000 between the three charities for the festive season.
Staff collected votes from the public to choose three causes, the Harrow Association for the Blind, which received £500, Asperger’s Syndrome Access to Provision, which received £300 and the Friends at Kingsley High School, which received £200.
Ishmeet Chadha, manager of the Chelsea’s Harrow branch, said: “The three charities we chose to support provide invaluable services to our local community.
“We felt it was important that the decision on the amount of money received by each was placed in the hands of local people.
“I’d like to thank everyone who voted and I’m sure these donations will make a real difference locally.”
