A-LEVEL geography students took a journey to the Dorset coast for a four-day trip.
Around 100 pupils from Sydenham School were whisked away on a grey London morning to the seaside town of Swanage for a geography expedition.
The girls carried out a series of hands-on investigations of river and beach characteristics around the area.
The Year 11 students found themselves knee deep in the River Swan as they were exploring land-management measures being taken to prevent flooding and coastal erosion.
Geography teacher Benazir Hassan said: "On the last day we had a chance to walk the South West coastal path studying the arches, stacks, stumps and other examples of coastal scenery."
Sixteen-year-old student, Sybille Danouma said: "I did not know that the UK had anything like that.
"It looked like scenery you expect to see abroad and the fresh air made a big change from London."
