A Kingston tattoo studio is encouraging customers to get inked in support of the millions of people in the Philippines left homeless by last month's Typhoon Haiyan.

Old London Road Tattoos has joined a global Facebook campaign by fellow tattoo artists to raise money for the relief effort in Southeast Asia, following the deadly cyclone which devastated the island last month killing thousands and leaving millions homeless.

The studio is offering a specially designed charity tattoo, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross.

Prices start at £40.

The design shows two people in a boat, and is a tribute to tattooist Jonas Agit Sustento, who died along with his family as a result of the flooding in Tacloban City.

Old London Road Tattoos owner Renea O'Grady said: "It's something that has been going around in the tattoo community and we just wanted to raise awareness of what's going on and raise some money for the Philippines.

"It's a traditional Philippines-inspired design. We'll be keeping it going from now and into the beginning of next year, so we'll hopefully raise a good amount."
